Episode146: How much money are you willing to let in?

How much money are you willing to let in? Ursula Mentjes, author and founder of Sales Coach NOW! answers that question as we talk about money beliefs. Ursula and her husband, Tim, used a shame resiliency technique that worked in recovering from the 2008 real estate crisis. Their outlook on life and how they became closer as a couple is inspiring.

We temper our current events conversation with ways we are wading through a tidal wave of transparency in our country, and emphasize the importance of authenticity. Ursula describes how sales have changed during this era, ways of super charging goals, and adds some values that need to be integrated into every licensed coach training program. What is one critical dynamic you need to be aware of as a coach? Download

Ursula writes, “The most difficult part of the One Great Goal journey might be in the ‘letting go’ of those things or people that no longer fit into our lives. But it is probably one of the most important parts. After all, you can’t have the ‘new’ without letting go of the ‘old.’ There simply isn’t room. Feng Shui experts teach you to open up all of the windows in your home to release the old energy and make room for the new. It is also recommended that you take all of your trash out at the end of the year and clean your home New Year’s Eve to invite in only good energy. This makes sense to me, and so it is with our goals. We must let go of our old thoughts, beliefs, goals, and relationships before we can make room for the new, beautiful ones to be ushered in. It is that simple.” (p. 169)

Create space to let more money come in. Start in this moment. Sit comfortably. Close your eyes. Acknowledge and let go of any emotions that arise as you focus inward. Imagine others doing this exercise with you. Once identified, use your breath to release those emotions out through your nostrils. Let them be free from your body, mind, and heart. Take a deep long breath in. Try that a few more times.

Once feelings of fear, constraint, or happiness and joy are released, imagine money flowing into your life like a river. No constraints or restrictions. Remain in the flow of your imagination. Experiment, see if you can extend the ease of the flow into your day when you open your eyes. New possibilities can connect once they are out into the Universe and out of your body, mind, and heart.
