Episode 204: Qualities You Need to Create Products That SELL

Do you have the three qualities needed to create transformational products that sell? Marcy Nelson-Garrison speaks to the heart of creating products that SELL. Her message is for all coaches, counselors, facilitators, and trainers. I found our podcast conversation applicable to any business owner in transition. We discuss four areas of transformation. DOWNLOAD

The first area is the personal development concept of the PINK Paradigm. Marcy sets the framework to create your product by outlining the acronym, PINK.

  • The road to business ownership was unlikely for many women of Marcy Nelson-Garrison’s era when Gloria Steinem began (writer, political activist, and feminist icon). We each bring  unique perspectives based on the era into which we are born and are inspired by the needs of that era.
  • I admire Marcy Nelson-Garrison’s courage and appreciate her journey in creating two online businesses that help others create successful transformational products that sell. The Coaching Tools Company is a great place to get over 250 transformational products. Pink Paradigm is where she offers product coaching and mentoring, and online classes.

The second area of transformation is hiring a mentor/coach. We move into an explanation of the importance of hiring a mentor or coach. One thing we didn’t specify in our conversation that I would like to mention here is hiring the ‘right’ mentor/coach. Before hiring a mentor/coach, interview a few to determine who is a ‘best’ fit for you. The mentor/coach needs to have a blend of chemistry, wisdom, expertise, and the ability to inspire change and transformation in you.

  • Avoid a mentor/coach that creates a co-dependent relationship where there is an imbalance of power and control. Stay clear of attachment to a person or to your experience/problem. You do not need to be fixed. You don’t need someone telling you how to think and what to feel. You do not need someone having power OVER you. You do not need to be rescued! You are not messed up!!!
  • YOU ARE IN TRANSITION! Transition is a positive, growth-oriented space that requires insights and guidance from someone who has your best interest at heart and who can offer you firm yet gentle truthfulness, no BS. The role of a mentor/coach is to co-create a process WITH you that will strengthen your understanding of who you are, where you are, and will work with you to clearly define who you are next becoming. And then, help you get there.
  • The process involves letting go of what no longer serves you as you embrace the freedom in exploring other directions to take your life and your business. It is an exciting experience, albeit an emotional rollercoaster of extreme highs and palpable lows, as you become the self-leader hero in this next chapter of your life. Marcy Nelson-Garrison describes coaching from this shared power perspective as she facilitates transformation.

The third area of transformation is about sticking to your creative process during product and program development; no matter what! There are four nonlinear ways to Maintain Your Creative Flow. Hear Marcy Nelson-Garrison’s four states: flow, stay, love, and pace.

The fourth area of transformation we discuss are three critical qualities you need to create a successful transformational product. Discover those three critical qualities by listening to our podcast conversation.

  • Gratitude Challenge: Take a few minutes to reflect on this past thanksgiving holiday, if you were in the United States. Otherwise, focus on the most recent holiday gatherings. Make a list of all the things that went well. Recall them in your mind and write them down.
    • Sit quietly and meditate for six minutes breathing in and out. Let all your thoughts pass through your mind without attaching to any of them. You will get back to them later. Keep coming back to your breathing in and out.
    • Just before you open your eyes, send all those who attended the gatherings loving kindness.
    • Reflect on your list of things that went well. Cherish those experiences for a few more minutes. Give yourself a big hug. You did it!
