Cindy Banchy Ironman Results. Before you listen, here is an update on what Cindy Banchy learned from finishing the 2017 Wisconsin Ironman with 2,896 of her peers. I spoke with her by phone on Tuesday, September 12th.
She swam 2.4 miles in 1:40:53; biked 112 miles in 7:31:59; and ran a marathon (26.22 miles) in 6:00:01. She followed three basic rules.- Be safe. Stop at every stop sign. Fuel yourself.
- Have fun. Persistence and pain are part of the journey.
- Hit the cutoffs. The city can’t keep the roads blocked forever!
Her first Ironman she was concerned about the physical aspects. Will her body hold up? This race she was grateful knowing her body could carry her. She had to dig deeper mentally to reach the 70-mile biking marker, physical fatigue. Once there she knew she would finish. At the finish, 15½ hours later, she felt like she was on the top peak of a mountain. She said, “I wish everyone could feel this way. It is an incredible high slowing down through the Shute to hear the crowd rooting for you. You put the work in. You get the reward. It includes stepping over the finish line.” Way to go CINDY!!!
What’s next, now that she is in such great physical condition? The Southern Swiss Alps in New Zealand with a group of women called Adventures in Good Company.
Now, turn your attention to Scott Welle and hear how you can Outperform The Norm.
