What Arsenal of Self-Care Tools are in your Toolbox?

Episode 125: What Arsenal of Self-Care Tools are in your Toolbox?

We started this Memorial Day Weekend on Thursday evening. I brought together some podcast guests for a WeMentor Collective Gathering. In the group photo you will see Annette Rondano (standing with her hand on her waist), The Great Metropolitan Backrub founder and healer. She has a perspective about healthcare and self-care worth hearing. Get self-care ideas to add to your healthcare toolbox!

Annette suggests trying things outside of allopathic medicine to get to the root of your pain. She has many examples of why you need a variety of healthcare tools to keep you on track. Learn about L-Glutamine, Cranial Sacral therapy, myofascial release, Shiatsu, and other modalities worth pursuing. Download

Life is a journey; so is your pain. How do you get to the root of your pain? What is your pain journey? Is it short-term? Long-term? Intermittent? Headaches? Annette suggests trying four things, whatever your pain, to heal. For example headaches, try massage therapy, nutrition therapist (where in your body could the pain be coming from?), see a Chinese doctor, try a B-Vitamin. Notice what is happening to your pain and make adjustments.

Self-care is many things. Body care is one of the tools you could include in your toolbox. One day it might be a healing massage, the next, a WeMentor Entrepreneurial Leadership and Mentoring LAB session, or exploring herbs and essential oils, Shiatsu therapy (acupuncture without needles and massage), showing self-compassion when you take a risk. I think you get the idea.

A massage therapist relationship is a unique experience. You can have a close relationship with your massage therapist at The Great Metropolitan Backrub or you have the opportunity to be anonymous. You choose. Annette is invested and passionate about making bodywork accessible to everybody! (The second photo includes Mike Kabeya)
